VW Passat SE TDI 1.8 Diesel please help!
My car started making clicking noise and with a little bit of vibrant that can be felt on the gear lever when engine is running on neutral. This goes away when you press clause pedal and it comes back on when you release the clause pedal. This has been really annoying when you are driving though traffic lights in the town. This clicking noise coming from under the bonnet can be heard by people on roadside. Would someone give me general ideas what may be the cuase or the problem, engine or clause please? Many thanks

If this is the case then it sounds as if the Clutch release bearing has failed, under tickover conditions or normal driving it is not under load so if it has failed it will make a noise which goes away when you press the Clutch pedal and put it under load.
The vibration through the gear lever points to this as well as the vibration from the damaged bearing will pass down the input shaft of the gearbox.
