Aqualisa shower leak
Hi
Please can you help? I have an Aqualisa Aquarian/Opto exposed control thermostatic shower unit that is leaking.
Initially after removing the upper and lower cover I found that the plastic collar on the valve on/off side or Hot side was broken so I fixed this but I still have a leak somewhere.
The odd part of this is that the leak is occurring in the cavity between the water feed and the water tank cupboard and it only occurs when the shower has been in use.
If the pipe from tank to valve was at fault I would expect that the leak would always be there, indeed it would be reduced with the shower flowing (since the pressure would reduce)
Most likely the main valve/mixer is at fault and I cannot see the leak going back into the wall.
Do I need to replace the whole valve unit or could there be something I have overlooked?
Best Regards,
Jo

I think the best way is to first see if a seal overhaul kit is available.
Then isolate and remove the valve assy for investigation.
You should also check any couplings/flexy pipes for leaks and renew at same time.
I assume the outlet is connected to an external slider/handset and not a hidden feed with fixed head?

Thank you for your enquiry.
We would advise that the top and bottom shroud covers are removed and the shower turned on to see where the water leak is emanating from. It can be the main cartridge, or possibly the inlet filters. Once it is established which part is causing the problem then please contact our helpline on 01959 560010 for further advise.
