Mixing of tyre sizes on front and rear
Is it safe to have 185/60/R14 tyres on the front and 175/65/R14 on the back? I just bought a second hand car with this combination and don't want to have to buy new tyres as well.

Had my wife's car MOTed recently and the mechanic pointed out that the front and rear tyre sizes were different. Car passed its test OK and no recommendati ons from mechanic.
Only problem I can see is, if you get a puncture and only carry one spare, you could end up with different sizes on the same axle and that is a definite no no.
