It's ******* like you that put the prices of insurance up for the rest of us, so I sincerely hope it is enforceable
me too! it's your own fault for not having it in the first place.

Not an expert, but I would say yes, it is enforcable.  The producer is only for you to produce your documents, the police will subsequently report you for the offence of no insurance (the police won't prosecute for no tax - that's for the DVLA but I would imagine the they will inform them). If you choose not to attend at a police station, they will automatically report you for an offence of failing to produce.  I don't think you'd win if you chose to contest anything in court.

Sorry if this isn't comprehensive enough, but someone else might be able to fill in the blanks.

BoroughGal you got it all there...

This is know as an absolute offence....The offence has been committed full-stop. There is no evidence to look for.

For speeding a photo isn't needed either, a policeman/woman can say in their opinion you were exceeding the limit and that can stand in court.

So I wouldn't worry about the signature it's only circumstantual  ;-)

What advert was this on then ? Oh, that one about "Quote me happy"  I see.
I hear strangeways is nice this time of year :-).........
