How would I find out what the security code for my car radio is? My car battery went flat (because I stupidly left my lights on all night) so the radio had no power and needs a code to start working again. But I don't have a manual for it. Its a Keycode 3000 Traffic. Thanks for any help.

Might be written somewhere in one of the manuals. Otherwise if you bought it from a garage they should be able to tell you.
You need to provide the serial number of the radio. Here are some numbers that I have found by Googling "radio keycode 3000 traffic":
Serial M025449. Code 8289
" M018009. " 0714
" M106027. " 3678
" M419400. " 9141
" M005466. " 2500
You will find some more suggestions if you Google as above.

If Google can't help, try a Ford (is your car a Ford?) dealer.

Thanks for that - yes, its a Ford Fiesta. Its a v reg and I bought it a couple of years ago from a wee garage, but don't have a manual. I'll give google a try. Thanks again.
you can go to a ford dealer with your V5 and proof of ID and they should be able to sell you the info

By the way - where will I find the serial number of the radio, its not on the front of it. Will I need to try and take it out and look at the back? Thanks
It looks as if your best course of action would be to go to a Ford dealer, and they will sort it out. Best of luck.
A Ford dealer should be able to tell you from the car's registration number, but they'll have the cheek to charge you for the information. The serial number will be on a a sticky label on the back of the radio - removal needed.
My husband had the same problem after having repairs to the car,
Googled for radio code and it took 5 mins, from finding code on radio, entering and paying for it, which was £4.99, and going back to car to enter code into radio. Works perfectly !
Reminds me of an episode in France. Driving a hired Renault car suddenly lost my radio output. I called into the nearest renault garage and within 1/2 hour they had got the code and restarted my radio. Must be the same with other makes.

Bookbinder - how did you find those codes without having to pay for them?

You need the serial number from rear of radio : )

I have googled "radio keycode 3000 traffic" but only sites where you pay for the code appear. I've got the serial number.
Just do what I said above : )
We can't do that here.
