cheapest excess? are you planning on losing it
We insure our phones with our service provider - O2. I am sure other providers will also do the same.

What do you mean, cheapest excess? If you only have an excess of say £50, your premium will be higher that it would if your excess were say £150.

Thanks for your answers.

On a few insurers I've seen they want 50 for it to be stolen and 75 for lost
so it was stolen not lost
I am also interested in insuring mine too
,mmmmmmmmmmm so am i--- pay £400 ---lose it pay 50 excess get £350 back--insurance scam if ye ask me

First of all it is not lost or stolen I just want to insure it.

And if I do I will not get money they would just replace the phone.
lala - what do you want to insure it against - damage, loss or theft? I hate, and never buy the extra insurance deals offered by electrical white good suppliers - always find asking "if you expect it to breakdown within 3 years, perhaps I should not be buying it" - not pleasent for sales staff, because it is part of taught sales training. But you have to remember sales of goods act(or is it just common law) e.g. even after manufacturers guarantee has run out, supplier still has a responsibility to you - i.e. I would expect a washing m/c to last for 5 years without abuse - so would expect a repair / replacement m/c

Thankyou TonyV

I want it insured against all of damage, loss and theft. I have a 1 year warranty with Apple but still want it insured just in case
lala - have you checked your household contents insurance? The only thing important on my phone are the numbers and diary - I can sync my phone with my computer to keep a copy - can you? What is the phone worth and what have you been quoted for insurance by provider? Tend to treat mobile as more vunerable than puter held data

Tony

I dont really want to put on household insurance as I live with my parents. But I looked at protect your bubble.com and was quoted I'd have to pay 50 for damage/stolen etc and 75 if I lost it which I dont quite understand.

The value of the phone is well over 400 as it is a iphone 4 16gb.

Yes I can sync to my computer but if something did happen I'd be left without a phone
Lala - it may be covered by your parents insurance, if they have contents insurance, they will have informed ins comp you are living there - if it is not might be cheaper to tag it to your parents insurance and pay them difference, or do you not want to bother your parents about it?
why don't you want to go through your service provider?
Question Author
Dont want the hassle with my parents insurance Tony - if (god forbid) something did happen to the phone I'd just want to get straight onto my insurance to sort it all out. Plus hopefully moving out soon so dont want it on there as it will be void.

Boxtops - I've had insurance on a previous phone with the provider and when I needed to claim they were completely useless
Change provider? We've had to claim several time on our O2 phone policy (one phone stolen, breakdown and faults) and each time they provided a new phone, or repairs, without any quibble at all.
Lala - you need to google as location will be a factor
