I tool my car in for 60000 mile serviceat the main dealers, I told them that it's slightly low on power and there is an unusual sign hi-lighted on the dashboard. On collection of the car I am told that the Particulate Filter need to be changed and it would cost over �1000. Are then real?

yes they are the particulate filter is somthing that is fitted to keep the emissions down on the car. but they rarely need replacing i do know that they need fluid adding and the counter resetting.
even though that price seems a bit high
