Vauxhall Zafira (2003) - Oil Light Keeps Coming on When Engine is Idling
Hi
When my car is idling the oil light comes on. If I increase the revs even slightly it goes off. The oil levels look fine, I can see no obvious signs of a leak and the car is running fine.
The car was recently serviced and the garage could not find any problem (and of course the light did not come on when it was ion the garage) and as part of the service the oil was changed but the problem persists.
Can anyone offer some opinion on what the issue might be?
Thanks

As long as it does not come on whilst driving, it will be fine.
Try replacing the oil pressure warning sender ..It may well fix it. They get lazy.

I agree, oil pressure switch has gone faulty. I had the same on my car, everytime you reved it the light went out. I replaced the pressure switch and all was fine. they are not expensive and easily replaced (depending on access). Dont be alarmed if you loose a very small amount of oil when changing. just mop up the split oil. dip the level twice (top up as required) then run the car.
