Just working on it as we speak! Although the weather here is fantastic. Best November I can recall for a very long time.

Just a tip if I can, do not try to clear frost / Ice off your screen until it's thawed! 2 possible results, blown fuse, split wiper rubbers.

I tried to scrape the ice off my windscreen with my B and Q card. Useless, only got 10% off!

I've given it a stern talking to about not breaking down in the snow or sliding all over the place on the ice.

what would you suggest?

i have de-icer and a scraper...

ive considered getting snow chains, but heard mixed reviews...

as far as i know there is antifreeze already in it...but do i need to top up?

Joko, checking wipers, Antifreeze windscreen wash, depending what your car is? front or rear wheel drive, if rear wheel, carry a couple of bags of sand for grip, a shovel, check spare is in good order, put a slight smear of Vaseline on the door rubbers, them that the door closes onto this stops the door sticking due to the wet & frost, if the weather get bad a flask, blanket, make sure your mobile is charged, & your car fueled up, you may think I'm joking, I've come across many people stuck in cars over the years of HGV driving & helped them due to the fact that they where not prepared. All good advice. If the weather gets bad, or the temperature drops, then I'll check it: but in my experience, here in the town down south, it's rare to have too many problems. Worse thing that happened last winter was I was able to drive but many others opted to block the road and not move, so I had to give up, stop-start crawl to the next junction, turn around, and go back home.
