OK so they may charge you 15 times the car's value. They don't necessarily mean they think you will write it off 15 times a year. A pal of mine back in the 80s had a 1976 Mk. III 'coke-bottle' Cortina. He didn't take much care of his brakes and at a T-junction failed to stop and as a result caused, with his £500 jalopy, £8500 worth of damage to a Rolls-Royce.

saw a 19 car crash of Porsches and two ferraris (out of 30 cars) in a side event to the 1991 Macau Grand Prix (F3) - obviously a race track - right on the 110 degree Lisboa Corner. The crash in Japan is pretty impressive and the police shouldnt have too many problems with that boy-racers' club in the days/weeks/months to come.....
