peugeot 406 td hdi faulty direction indicators

Direction indicator spontaneously flicks on to the left at random. How is it fixed please?

if the car is 2000 on it will probably be a fault with the switch unit (called the comm 2000) this something that has to be replaced to solve the problem and as there are so many different ones it is not worth trying to get a second hand 1 as they nearly all look the same ( i think that they are still dealer part only and requires the steering wheel and column shoud off to replace it.)
