fiat ulysse keeps cutting out when braking/clutch going down. Help
Hi, my fiat ulysse keeps cutting out when i am putting my foot on the brake to slow down at the same time as using the clutch to change down. Engine cuts out, lights come up on the dashboard, i can turn off car, turn it on again and it will start and i can keep on driving but it will happen again when i brake/use clutch at the same time! Does anybody know where we even start looking to try to find what the problem is? Many thanks

When the car is moving and the gas pedal is not depressed, the motion of the vehicle keeps the engine going. But once the driving road wheels are disconnected from the engine (by de-clutching) – there is insufficient fuel to the engine to keep it going.
Try changing gear without braking, but when de-clutching – give the car a little gas (to keep the engine going). If the engine does not cut out when doing this, take a look under the bonnet to see how the accelerator cable adjustment is made, and adjust accordingly.
