My Ford Ka started juddering about 10 minutes into my journey today. About 15 minutes in, the check engine light flashed for about 30 seconds and then stopped but the juddering continued. When I arrived at work I phoned my dad and he came to check it over. He checked all the oil and fluid levels and everything was ok. It juddered all the way home again and about 5 minutes into the journey, the check engine light came on and stayed on.
That all sounds a bit confusing but if anyone could give me any idea of what is going on I would be very grateful.
It's my first week at work so can't take any time off :| My dad is going to try and take it to the garage tomorrow if he has time so it will be getting dealt with before anymore driving is done :)
Thanks for replying :) I was telling my friend and she said it sounds like the problem she had with her KA. It was the coil pack (?) How much do they usually cost to repair? Just to give me an idea :)
At the risk of sounding like a worn out record – anyone who owns a car manufactured within the last 10 years should either own or have access to something like this:-
I see from Euro car parts that the ignition system is fitted with a ‘condenser’ which costs over £100 (must be made of gold – or some other precious metal).
So you could be looking at around £200 with fitting, if that is at fault.
