LPG versus Natural Gas prices
6 Answers
I use LPG and could possibly revert to Natural Gas.
However doing a price comparison is proving a nightmare.
I buy bulk LPG in litres and so have a price per litre.
I have a price for Natural gas in Pence per KiloWatt hours.
Does anyone know how to work out a comparable pricing unit?
I have discovered that 1.1 gallons of LPG is approx 1 therm, if that helps!!

1 therm of Propane = 4.16 litre or 1 litre = 0.141 litres. (not fully accurate as LPG is a C3/C4 blend)
I Imperial gallon = 4.546 litres.
Be careful of pricing as LPG tends to be at a premium in winter, re heating and at a discount in summer, the surplus of which in refining heads across the refinery wall into Chemical manufacture, esp for ethylene based products.
And also there are big differences re bottle and tank for Propane - and there can be (significant) charges for NG connection - used to be the first 50m to the pipe was free but am not sure today - probably somevariation between suppliers as, in my time, BG were horrendous with their charges
