my alarm keeps going off intermitintly, have changed the batteries in the key card but still no change any ideas please

I had this problem years ago (not Renault) and it was caused by a faulty (motion) sensor inside the car. This was replaced and problem stopped. (Apparently, there had been a faulty batch and they had lots of complaints- all about cars made around the same time).
