facing disqualification

im not sure what category this should be in but, im facing a possible disqualification based on whether the car i was driving was legaly myne or not, i was stopped on the 16th of a month and the day after the log book office changed car into my name, am i safe

However, the police dispute it, and say the car belonged to him at the time.
