Could anyone tell me why my Citroen C2 sometimes hunts. The revs go up and down when idling some times, but the engine doesn't cut out. I was told by the agents in Durban South Africa that it is caused by low amps from the battery, I have been told that they will have to source a new battery. The vehicle is a few months old with 6000 KM on the clock.

A few months old with 6K on the clock, has it been hammered?  The battery should be replaced under warranty but I doubt if it is the problem.  Usually engine hunting is caused by air leaks on the induction side but may also be caused by faulty electronic regulators/management, eg. air flow meter.  Does it not have any warranty to cover this?

tell you citrone agent to stop talkin **** the battery have no bearing on the problem what you have is an air leak on the induction/intake manifold but the most common and the most cheapest is the injector seals as if there not fitted correctly will cause hunting.

citrone uk mechanic.
