Personal disabled parking bays
Can anyone tell me if it's an offence to park in a disabled parking bay which is painted on the road outside someone's house.
Our neighbour has one of these bays which he uses twice a week, choosing to park his car at the rear of his property for the majority of the time.
Parking is at a premium in the street and a number of people will park in this bay from time to time. If a compaint is made would they get a ticket?

I work with people with disabilities and quite agree that people who park in the bays at supermarkets, etc for people with disabilities are totally out of order. I have been known to tackle able bodied people who park in those bays.
The guy I am talking about has been given his bay under false pretences. Since posting my question I have discovered our local council policy states that people who have another parking area ajacent to thair property will not be given a bay. This guy parks his car in his back yard most of the time but expects neighbours to keep his spot in front of his home clear too. I will be asking the council to remove the bay asap!
