Car key problem

I can't lock/unlock my driver's side door with my key.  It works OK on passenger side and unlocks both doors.  My wife has no problem with her key and the red "master" key is also OK.  I can't seem to be able to reprogramme my key as per the handbook. At least it makes no difference.
All suggestions very welcome.
