Whats an MPV?

i aasume mpv stands for 'multi person vehicle'???? If that the case, then why are some cars such as a citroen picasso, ford focus c max etc classed as this even though they only have 5 seats? A Galaxy and Zafira have 7 and are what i consider mpv's!........A mini has 5 seats and thats not an mpv?......any thoughts?

as if all other vehicles are for one purpose only!

focus c max has 7 in the adverts doesnt it? sure i saw 7 but i might be wrong

Nope... it's a 5 seater (or less if you reconfigure the rear seats)

These cars, such as the Picasso etc are referred to as Multi Purpose Vehicles because they'll carry a full quota of people, have lots of space and will normally carry their luggage too. This is also confounded by the fact that most of these vehicles can move their seats around, take a few out, add a few in or flip em all over into a bed, or a combination of the above!
