HELP! Can anyone tell me where my husband can find a part for an
AUDI 100 E? The part he needs is a"MCPHERSON STRUT AND HUB ASSEMBLY NEARSIDE FRONT" We have tried EBAY, scrap merchants in the UK, the Internet, the Yellow Pages, and this is our last resort. Fingers crossed! Kind regards,

have you tried audi?
Blimey Audi 100E, thats an old car isn't it. Maybe he could strip the strut down and replace the seals I am guessing that it is leaking.
I have used this once and I got the part I needed. They send your request to parts suppliers and car breakers who in turn contact you if they have the part.

I'd imagine a strut and hub assembly from Audi would cost far more than the car is worth!
Exactly, Chuck.
I also find it a little strange that a whole strut and hub would actually be needed, I don't know much about Audi suspension but I'd be very surprised if the hub and strut can't be split apart.
I was also thinking along those lines as well Chuck, I am guessing that the strut is leaking oil / gas.
Also, without knowing the year it's a bit hard to say too much, but I think the last model 100 has exactly the same drive train components as the first model A6, so they should be interchangeable.
Thats a good link, mjwman.
Geisha Girl, I would advise if your O.H. is renewing the or repairing the strut, he needs to do the both! there are sites that are for Audi owners +clubs, Google Audi cars you will see them coming up.
The link is for an american company.
Type in AI car spares.
Go on to the Amazon site & type Audi Front Suspension +parts.
try euro car parts, or google ecp and you will find the nearest branch to you

Thanks so much for all who tried to help. I tried all your suggestions but still not getting anywhere. It is an old car but it had one careful owner before it came to us and there's still not 1,000 miles on the clock. We were told about one being sold to a scrap dealer, but when we got there it had been scrapped.
kind regards,
