Help zeb losing power

Hi there, as you may know my beloved zeb is my life!! Vitara jls 17 years old today started playing up, once the auto clutch turns off she seems to lose power and judders as if she is going to cut out.

When I am driving she seems sluggish and takes ages to 'pick up' its worse when changing gear I really have to put my foot down to pull off and get those revs up!!

Does anyone have any ideas?

absolutely, helen, cars can become loves, and, depending on her model, new clutches aren't a killer......but do expect a reasonable bill, What does her usual garage say/quote? If you have no "struggling" or bumpiness in neutral or low gears, as you pull away, then a clutch makes sense.

As zeb only cost me £500 6 years ago and is so unusual I will pay to keep her on the road she past her mot last month with no problems phoning my garage tomorrow to drop off on Monday so will have to wait till then

In your case due to the running costs of your car, it would be cheaper to replace the clutch on a car that you know rather than buying another that you do not know.

That's my thought two, she is very reliable and a clutch is just wear and tear!!! Booked in for Monday with the garage.

Your early posts do not suggest a clutch problem to me.

Yaaaay points plugs and full service just going to pick her up! So relieved.

Good good good, glad it wasn't the clutch. Just a service needed then, you will have to look after Zeb a bit better fgt lol.
