Yesterday i changed the brake pads on my 2006 Vauxhall Vectra C, i've done it many times before and did the same procedure this time, however once i had finished i pumped the brakes and the pedal went stiff like its meant to but afterwards the brake pedal has gone really spongy and now i have to push it right down for the car to stop!

can anyone tell me what may have gone wrong this time?

It sounds like you've got air into the system somehow while changing the pads. Did you keep an eye on the fluid level while changing them?

Check the fluid level and then bleed the brakes.
