Is there any way to keep the windscreen washer fluid from freezing? I have to carry a washing up liquid bottle of water in the car with me and every so often stop and give the screen a few squirts to help clear it. I am told anti freeze will strip paint ( does it?). anyone solved this problem?

Washing up liquid is supposed to be bad news in some way (can't remember why) definitely use screenwash.
In Finland where they have proper winters I made my own screenwash that had lots of salt in it. OK it may not have done the pump or paintwork many favours but was less damaging than driving into a tree because I couldn't see where I was going.
