I am ashamed to say he was doing 40 in a 30 zone on the letter it says you can attend up to 42mph. I know they can only get 6 points in the first two years instead of 12 so thats why I was wondering if the rules were diferent for new young drivers being offered the speed awareness course. The letter is addressed to me as I own the car and my son is a second driver. I use it to commute to work and he uses it sometimes in the evening, so when I inform them it was my son driving just wondered if he may be offered the course.
