Does anyone know if there is a website that you can go on to check up whether a certain car has insurance on it or not?
Or is there anywhere that you can ring for this sort of information?

The £5,000 limit is for a Magistrates'Court and for a Crown Court it's unlimited. I have heard the Information commissioner saying a few times that the fines imposed have been low and I had a quick look and even in cases involving repeated access or selling information, they have attracted fines of a hundred to five hundred pounds.

It wasn't to check up on people willy nilly, just to check on one car, my step-sons.
His employers paid his car insurance and let him pay them back monthly out of his wages, but I was very sceptical, or to just be blunt, I doubted that they had paid it and didn't trust them, wanted to check up and see if the car came up as insured.
