Ford Mondeo Rear Driver Door

Good car but yesterday rear driver door would not open. Car has remote central locking but does not work and the car door is locked shut and will not budge. Does anybody have any ideas as to how to open door and what to do to stop it happening again?

the central locking should'nt be the issue or else in an accident you would be locked inside the car. if all the other doors open i suggest it's more of a mehanical thing, seized lock, door hinges. brute force is somtimes the only option...
