What's The Value Of A 1997 Nissan Micra
Can someone give me a rough idea of the value of the above. It's in reasonable condition, three doors. Mileage probably under average for it's age. Thanks.

Thanks all. It's a really good car and it's served me well. The man who MOTs it says Nissan Micra are one of his favourite cars for reliability and being sound and he should know as he's been in the business for 40 years.
It has been an insurance write off a while ago simply because someone made a dent in the driver door, and the insurance company said I could have the value of the car, I think it was, about 6 or 7 hundred to repair it myself. So I had the car door professionally repaired and then it had it's VIC check. Although it was written off for cosmetic damage, does that still lower it's value? TIA

marijn, I still think the best suggestion is to try to trade it in. My OH traded in his last car and got £100 off the new (second hand) car.
I loved my Micra, I object to the rustbucket comments on here! - but yours is 16 years old, it's done you well. A trade in (irrespective of the bits and pieces needing fixed) could be best option.

PS It was not declared a wreck. The insurance company said it would be cheaper for them to give me the money to buy a replacement car i.e £600 or £700, than for them to organise a repair. It was only cosmetic damage to the door, but insurance companies would rather give you the money, than repair a low-value car. They said I could spend the money on getting the car repaired myself if I wished, as long as it went for a VIC check after. Which is what I did.
It's a Micra SR 3 door hatchback. Re the special notes on the new log book, it says: 1. Declared new at first registration.
2. Substantially repaired and/or accident damaged; identity checked on 12 10 2009.
I'm tempted to sell it as scrap metal, but feel I'm being disloyal to it, as it's been a good car, and still is.
