Thanks for response.
I bought a more substantial model - but because it is capable of 8 mph and can be used on the road it must be licensed - which is free!
A lesser model which can only run at 4mph - not on road - no need to license! Typical!
Will never use mine on road 0r at 8 mph - just want it for comfort and feeling more secure

Gave up on V55/5. Found a phone number - 5 options so chose one - then 7 more options - chose one - then 4 more! Chose one and was connected right away to helpful operator - asked my name, address, how long had I owned scooter. Bingo - disc will be in post - I don't have to do anything!
