Ford Mondeo Drinks Holder

The drinks holder in the centre console of my 2002 Ford Mondeo won't stay closed. Ford want �120 to fix it because they say the console has to be removed. Can I replace by simply removing the radio unit and getting to it through the hole in the console?

duck tape over it? think i would rather have that over the ridiculous cost of fixing it

www.fordmondeo.org just had a quick look, cant see anything specific. have a look around the forum or just plain ask the question. not at all sure whats involved, but it can't be too hard and a whole lot better than duct tape on a '52 mondy... come on twiglet!

That's an amazing cost. I baulked recently at VW who wanted �36 for the same job for a Bora, but over �100 is taking the mick. As it's 2002 is there any warranty left?

I can't remember the details, but I think the parts cost was about �20, the rest was labour!
