i have a escort diesel 1993

when i go to start the car for the first time it takes a very long time before it fires, after that it runs and starts ok......its had new glow plugs fitted and car has been like this from the first day i had it.......

any one help

go for the easy option first. check out the glow plug circuit. just because they're new do not mean they are working.is the relay working as it should? you need to check if the plugs are getting an electrical feed.

yes the circuit is ok and the relay is ok.

i have be told some diesels are like this to start. i`ve had 3 other diesels and they all started right away..
