Where Is This Recession Then Mr. Cameron?

Does it only apply to us minnows? Supermarkets are still making huge profits. One Chairman recently said that the days of cheap products are over. The banks always seem to announce profits in the billions. Utility companys' continue to make massive profits and the price of petrol is absolutely extortionate. You can buy a gallon in the U.S. for the same price as a litre in the UK. But there's a recession and we're all going to have to pay up and boost these pofits even more. Maybe these company's think they aren't making enough so we are going to continue to pour more money in their coffers.

more than one, two, three reasons why we have a recession. But it doesn't help when governments go out and spend, spend, spend what we don't have... nor does it help when people go out and spend what they don't have, credit card debt, live now, pay later, both government and people need to see that you simply can't live like that. Because you never know what is around the corner, financially speaking, and if you hit a problem, ie redundancy, ill health and have no provision, you can end up in lots of doo doo.

Today's papers are talking about energy prices going up soon, despite their huge profits, so the average energy bill will be £1450 p.a Apparently when it reaches £1500 p.a., that's a tipping point after which many more customers will be in crisis and can't afford to heat and cook. That sounds like recession to me (blame the energy companies, though)
