One British businessman, the founder of JCB was interested but just didn't have the vision to see that Landrover would be worth buying as part of the deal.

We just don't have enough good quality management with the guts and the vision and as a result foreign companies who do acquire our best.

It's actually remarkable that RR aero engines managed to avoid that fate when the car arm went to Germany
