Rear Seat Head Restraints
I have just bought a new (to me) car and it has removable head restraints on the rear seats. The middle one blocks my view in the rear mirror, so I have taken it out.
A friend tells me it is illegal to remove the head restraints.
Does anyone know if that is the case?

There's no law requiring you to have, or to use, head restraints in your car. If a passenger was to be injured because you'd removed one, he/she could probably win a civil case against you (because your action had contributed to his/her injury) but that's completely separate to criminal law.
