After purchasing a replacement lockset from a scrap yard how do i replace my current ignition barrel with the one i've purchased?

Depends on the age of your 106 but the answer is, "you can't".  The steering lock is secured with 'snap head' bolts or something like which means that they can be tightened but not removed.  To remove the lock is a hammer job or angle grinder.  Cheapest and easiest to retain your original if poss.
ive changed the ignition barrell on my saxo. im confused though so dont know whether this is actually what you are talking about. i found changing it fairly easy, i just followed the instructions in my haynes manual. the problem i had was that i needed to get my new keys coded to my imoboliser. so i had to take it all out and then get it to a garage. cost me about �60 in all i think.sorry if this has nothing to do with the question you asked!
