not nice for anyone, she was most definitely out of order,
This can be the way Asian people interact - lots of shouting and arm-waving, but it is not likely that it is a serious as it sounds.

That said, the lady is a cashier, and as such, should behave in an appropriate manner - and should be disciplined for her outburst.

'Apparent Racial Abuse'? - Pretty definitive I'd say AOG!
if you listen to it all, and it goes on a long time it's pretty clear she is swearing over and over, not to mention calling him Mohammed and a Muslim, are you a Muslim she says, i wonder what would prompt anyone to go totally overboard like that, did he say something to her maybe that we couldn't hear?

I used the word 'apparent' because nothing so far has been proven, perhaps I should have used the word 'alleged'?.

'Apparent', - seeming real or true, but not necessarily so.

'Alleged', - said, without proof, to have taken place or to have a specified illegal or undesirable quality.
But to call someone a Muslim isn't racist
seems pretty clear, it was abuse, swearing like a trooper at the man, doesn't seem particularly pleasant.
AOG - "I used the word 'apparent' because nothing so far has been proven, perhaps I should have used the word 'alleged'?."

A fair point well made.
you can hear what she says pretty clearly can't you?

Agree with Sandy, How is calling someone a Muslim being racist?

A bit of banter that got out of hand perhaps. whatever the result of the cashiers impending chat with her boss I'm confident it would be the same result if the cashier had been someone else.
It's not racist but it could still be an offence under Section 31(1)(c) of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 - causing religiously aggravated harassment, alarm or distress.
A classic example of how not to deal with a disgruntled customer - should be used as a training video.

Hope we don't hear more about it and it is dealt with in house.
calling him an effing this and effing that would be construed by anyone as abusive

Agreed, the abuse was out of order, but not Racist, Muslim is not a Race!
AOG uncharacteristically pussy footing over "apparent" and apparent differences to "alleged" - rather than alleged differences....... gonna become a Jesuit in your old age AOG ?

The woman will be Hindu - they dont like the muslims
See partition 1947

or indeed the Gruntwick dispute in the seventies

Muslim employer and Hindu union leader......
something which was neva identified by the Brits at the time
perhaps she is a Hindu, or a Sikh, so the two maybe not compatible?
"Will We Hear More Of This Apparent Racial Abuse?"

Not entirely sure it's racial abuse, but I sincerely hope that abuse isn't the norm for most people!

Yes, I fully understand how annoying some customers can be, been on the receiving end of them often enough myself, but I've yet to lose it like this woman did.
She could be Christian, an atheist, a Bahá'í.....
I can see nothing that indicates any religion.
