Motorcycle Helmets And First Aid...
3 Answers
Not a question but a statement...
Attending the scene of an accident involving a motorcyclist lying in the road, I was shocked to hear someone suggest removing the motorcyclists helmet so they could 'hear if they are speaking'.
NEVER REMOVE A HELMET from an injured rider, you could paralyse them or kill them if they have back/neck injuries. Leave the helmet on and let trained paramedics remove it.
Obviously there are exceptions (when mouth to mouth/CPR required) but this decision must never be made lightly and best by a trained first aider...
Thanks for listening.

Knowing she shouldn't remove his helmet she managed to just lift the visor and hold him till the ambulance men came; they took it off straight away!
