Car stinks when reversing..new clutch fitted recently..smells of cabbage lol....any ideas? Vw jetta 97

On a clutch components change Purple, various things get removed, cleaned then replaced ( Smells) as long as your clutch is doing it's job, do not worry about it.

Maybe a bit lat on this, but I'd say it was your catalytic converter. You're getting the smell in reverse as you're passing back through your own exhaust gasses.
