Tyre Storage
16 Answers
Have purchased a 'spare' tyre (only) to keep in our garage. Can anyone advise the best way to store it eg., standing on the tread, or hang by hook from the inside rim? Or other?
I am also mindful that mice don't make a cosy lounge inside too!

The last time she punctured a tyre, for some reason it proved difficult to find a mobile fitter with not only the capability to fit a tire to an alloy-but to quickly obtain a 195/65 R16 H Continental so we were advised to have one at least available from home which I appreciate isn't greatly useful if on a long distance trip. On a long trip she would have to drop a rear seat and carry it as part of her luggage I suppose....

I think that the trend of car manufacturers to sell cars without a spare wheel is absolutely ludicrous. I would suggest Matheous-2 that you purchase a spare wheel & fit the tyre to it & then find somewhere for your daughter to store it either in or on the car ( could it be bolted to the outside of the boot/trunk? ) In the event of a tyre puncture the spare wheel is then available to be fitted by a service engineer.
