Hi I need to sell my car but my sister has just sent the v5 off to have the address changed without thinking about needing it to sell the car, according to DVLA it can take up to 4 weeks to get V5 back. We still have the green slip from when we bought the car but it isn't filled in. If somebody wanted to buy the car prior to receiving V5 back, could this green slip be given to them and then I would send V5 offers we review it back. Only thing that concerns me about this is that during the time we don't have V5 back, if the buyer gets any speeding tickets etc... Hoe would I prove I sold the car to them before they were issued.
Advice please as I really need to sell the car.

Typo, I would send V5 off when we get it back.
If you manage to sell the car without having the V5 then the buyer will expect some form of receipt. You can write out a receipt with the buyer's name, address and sign it and date it and then photograph it before you give it to him.
As above but get a receipt from the purchaser confirming date of transfer. A duplicate of the buyers receipt would do, with both your and purchasers signatures.
