Does anybody know why my new shammy leather (not a cheap one) leaves bits behind ?
How can I stop this ?

Did you soak it in cold water for about 24hours before use.That used to be the norm when purchased new?
After every use you should rinse it and clean it in water and soap(not detergent). Squeeze gently to remove excess moisture and allow to dry out.
Try using a good quality micro fibre towel they are better than a chamois.
Completely agree with BS above...most proper car valeters have ditched chamois and use thick microfibre drying towels. They're also better for windows, too.
Yep, microfibre cloths are better.
