I've got a Ford Connect 1.8 turbo diesel nearly 6 yrs old. Only done 40K, but used nearly every day. Its started 'hunting' when I start up, but this more or less goes once I actually start driving. However, sometimes it will 'miss' a couple of times when driving along. I wondered if an injector might be on the way out, but not really convinced. No obvious leaks or anything under the bonnet. Any ideas? or is it a trip to the dreaded diagnostics computer!!

A few possibles here, the throttle body could need a clean out, the idle valve could be sticking, the injectors could be gummed or it could be a loose electrical connection or an air leak. Get a mechanic to have a drive/listen before you fork out £50 odd for a diagnostic, it may not tell you anything if the engine fault light has not come on anyway...
