Sorry to be vague about this but it's someone else's car so I can't check details myself.
It's the Titanium model, almost 100% sure on a 60 plate - newer shape anyway. I can find plenty of info about the boot capacity in litres, but I really need to know the actual height from floor to roof; especially helpful would be the height close to the side doors.
I know it's an odd one to ask! We need to get a new wheeled toolbox for some band kit as the one we have is falling to pieces. The replacement I've found is taller (89cm) but I like it because it's got soft rubber wheels, much more neighbour-friendly when it's being trundled to the house at 3am!

Mondeo Estate ztac 2011

76cm height
111cn wide, at the back

he did not measure at the door because it is smaller there

Quite surprised by that. I've got a Mondeo estate in the previous shape and found it only 3 or 4 cm short of the 89 - thought the newer one might be very close to the same. 76cm seems ungenerous.
he took a load of stuff from my place to the recycling centre and i was surprised at what he could get in the back all in one go with the seats down

This is the one I was thinking of getting:

And this is what it would replace:

The latter does its job but the wheels make a right old racket over flagstones at night.
The first one is good in that the compartments detach so there is potential to do that, but it's just a bit of extra faffing around and we're inherently lazy! Sadly we can't really avoid having it upright; it gets filled with jack leads, XLR cables, kettle leads, microphones, and other little bits & pieces which would probably end up jumbled if we lay the box on its side/back.
I'll have a word with our guitarist when he gets back from his stag do/rock climbing weekend - he might say detaching the boxes is no problem.

that is the back opening measurement, you need to know if you could tilt it when you put it in and then the inside floor to roof height measurement

Methyl; well, the ideal is that we stand the unit upright. Main reason for that is we have a sort of default loading layout. Our two ‘coffins’ (long, low storage boxes) go next to each other on the left, toolbox (this one) stands up behind the driver’s seat, with guitar amp and flight case with mixing desk/power amp behind that (towards the boot). We then have a couple of 70litre luggage cases full of lights which go on top of the coffins. Oh, it’s all very carefully organised!
The width and depth of the toolbox I’d like to buy are less than the old one, which is great, but I’m worried by the height which is 14cm more. If the newer Mondeo isn’t higher inside than mine then it won’t take 89cm.
