Yes and after several days the police rang to say they had found it next to a block of flats only 10 minutes away. I went there immediately but when I got there the police had gone AND so had the car . The thief had driven it away again. It was found again a week later and the police were again just leaving the scene when I and my wife arrived. We insisted on taking the car but the police wanted to leave it so their forensic people could examine it first. Had we left it the thief would have returned, especially as it was filled with other stolen items. In the event their forensics did finally examine the car 10 days later after numerous phone calls from us but that's another story.
I parked my car in a city I had never visited before. When I couldn't find it I went to the police station. After they fell about laughing the said as they weren't busy they would take me for a drive to look for it. We found it about 2 hours later. I must say they were very good.
Yes, 3 times over the years. Twice in different car parks, once with my daughter so it wasn't just me, and once in Leeds I came out of work at 8pm, car gone, phoned police who knew exactly where to look. They found it a couple of hours later, burned out, on a not very nice estate in east Leeds.
