Just been done for my wettest ever speeding ticket, 36 in a 30, will I get a speed awareness course? Moment of weakness must have missed the camera.

If it's your fist offence or if you haven't attended in the last 3 years and IF 36 is within the limit then, yes.
Ooo you are naughty !!
I do hope you weren't breaking the law out of some sense that it was more convenient to do so and that it didn't apply to you anyway...
I thought you had to go 10 mph over before you were caught !
is a fist offence where you make a rude sign at the camera as you go by?
35 - 42 mph in a 32 zone is eligible.

yes ZM that's what I'm wondering is 36 in range? cant seem to find anything definitive on line.
just answered.

32 zone?? ok so 35-42 elligible, so I should get one but it's odd that it isn't 31-42.
sorry 30 zone.
When you say "must have missed the camera"... what speed do you drive at in a 30 limit without cameras?
Last year, I was caught by a camera. I was doing 8 mph over the (40 mph) limit. I was offered the choice of a fine + points on my licence, or a speed awareness course. That was my first driving offence, which is why I was offered the choice. I went on the course (4 hrs or so on a weekday morning) and that was that. If I do it again (get caught speeding) within 3 years, it will be a fine + points.
95 ?

well, I don't drive along glued to the speedo so it is possible that I exceed the limit on occasions but when I see a camera I look specifically and then adjust if necessary. On this occasion I missed the camera.
Ah ok. Seems about the normal way to do it. Hard cheese this time...
ask them for a picture , cos you cant remember who was riding the bike at the time
Question Author
do I look like a lib dem! Can't really pin this one on the Mrs! for one thing she hasn't got a bike licence!
Serves you right!
It costs £90 to go on the course which was quite informative. The guy also explained that insurers may well start to ask whether you have been on one of the courses and take that into account when quoting! They have you all ends up - not that I am condoning speeding. Having said that I have not yet been asked the question when applying for insurance.

It's gone up margo, they are charging £110. I just filled in the NIP and I said I'd take it if offerred as that is one of the options.
