Tow Bar

We have a VW Golf W reg. Have just bought an aliminium trailer (knowing we didn't have a tow bar) What is the cheapest way of hooking up the thing, do we have to have a tow bar welded or specially fitted (approx �150?) or are there other ways?

You need a proper tow bar kit to suit your vehicle. If you are handy with a socket set, they are fairly easy to put on, though the electrics can be a bit tricky, but usually kits come with full instructions.
