ford focus 1.6 2004 air con

when i stop my car a small drip of water comes out of a open ended pipe coming out of engine bulkhead.i was told by a friend this was normal as it is condensation from air con unit.is this true.

Yes it is.  Air conditioning removes the moisture from the air in the car, this moisture must go somewhere so it gets dumped overboard.

This is perfectly normal. The pipe you are describing is there for that exact purpose; to allow excess water out of the system. Don't worry about it.
