The Deaths In Doncaster
These young people that Died in Doncaster last week, although not confirmed I would think speed has a lot to do with it! why can't the law make it legal for the young owners under 25 have their cars restricted to a set speed, a speed retarder that is "Sealed" on the fuel system of the car, It is done with HGVs & it can be done with cars, what do you think?

If they are going to restrict young peoples cars then they should restrict over 75 year olds cars so they can't drive in rush hour or after dark., or on the M25 at any time. You can't put all young drivers in the same catagory just as you can't put any age of drivers. At 21 years of age (a long time ago) my brother was driving an HGV in the armed forces -would you expect him to jump out of his 40 tonner and get into his restricted car?
It isn't always about speed, it's the inability to control a car at speed, If it was just speed there wouldn't be any formula 1 racing. Youngsters are not taught to drive but to pass a driving test, where I live they are taught on the same roads as where they take the test. Until the training and testing becomes more relevant to todays conditions and includes night, skid pan and motorway driving, there will not be a reduction in deaths on the road.
Before the post gets out of context, ( And that's the way it's going) we are talking about Young Drivers getting killed, not 70+ Drivers on the M25, 21 year old getting out of an Army Wagon ( By the way! that 21 year old has ben trained to have the sense to driver that 40 tonne wagon before he gets into his / her car.
Is there any where in my Comment that Indicates that I was saying it was their fault Retro? you pick up local papers weekly & Read what has happened to someone's Son / Daughter, I have seen, like others that use this site the carnage that is caused by young drivers & Speed, I have a car that is capable of 150 mph, Do I do the speed? why should I? I have nothing to Prove but have the Experience to do it If I am daft enough to try.
Depending on the Gradient, & depending if the HGV Is Loaded, the load can push the momentum of the HGV Ivor, regards the Speed, as said HGVs in the UK are Limited or should be Limited to 56MPH, that can increase on the likes of Shap, Between Lancaster M6 North / South, there is an area Nr the A71 Nr Lesmahagow Northbound M74, the HGV can, if the driver is stupid enough to over run the Limiter to a speed in excess of 80MPH +, this is where the load pushes the HGV.
