For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Lady, smaller Lorry's, more transport, more pollution, more cost, It is not in the Interest In the haulage Industry to have the HGV in City's /Town's / Villages as this cost the Firms Time, & time is vital, regards the Motorways, it is not the drivers fault that the Motorways are now "BUNCHED UP" due to one HGV overtaking another, ( In some cases, it is ) It is Brussels, It was them that Introduced the 56MPH the HGV has to stick to other wise he can get done, If you notice on HGV Trailers, there are Side / rear deflectors, also the Roof / Side / Front of the HGV this Improves Performance, fuel saving, I can assure you, HGVs do not run Dirty / Black Smoke as been stated by a member, the like's of 44 tonners run efficiently due to the cost of fuel, no Haulier with any sense would have their fleet running at 6 Miles Per Gallon when the thing should be doing 10, if anything wants sorting out, its the Road works, Congestion on the roads, that could be put to rights with the amount of money that this & every Government STEALS off the Motorist, & letting FREE LOADERS coming into this country FREE OF CHARGE on a daily basis.
