Ive just had my MOT, how much should I expect to pay to have the Nearside rear, Offside rear and Offside front brake pipes replaced? Many thanks.

5 years ago this poster was quoted just over £180 to replace the two offside brake pipes:

Depending on how long you plan to keep the car I'd consider having the nearside front replaced at the same time - it's not going to last a lot longer and it'll be cheaper than having it done on its own.
Brake fluid should be changed every 2 years as well (to stop it boiling under heavy braking), so think about having that done at the same time.
That's a new one Bhj " Stop it boiling?? It depends if you are talking about the Full Pipes from the Master Cylinder or are you talking about the short pipe from the Metal Pipe that runs from the front, If what you have stated to me the lot wants doing, the cost with fluid, in my opinion a day's work +Pipes + Fluid, £250>>> £300 depending where you get the job done.
Join the Puma forum ...you'll most likely get the best deal there (Project Puma, not the other one).
How are your rear wheel arches? ;-)
Brake fluid is hygroscopic (absorbs water), which lowers the boiling point. Under heavy braking the heat generated at the disc is transferred to the fluid in the slave cylinder which can cause it to boil. The gases generated reduce the braking effect as they compress so stopping distance is greatly increased.
Changing the brake fluid is done by bleeding the brakes, which will have to be done anyway if some brake pipes are replaced. If three pipes are being replaced you might as well change the fourth one at the same time - saves money in the long run.
Bhj, I used to drive HGVs In area's the likes of Buxton over to Macclesfield, I do not know if you are aware of that area, there was no Air Brakes as such then but Vacuum / Fluid assisted Brakes, the Lorry over the Cat & Fiddle continued braking & never ever was the Fluid within the Master Cylinder Boiling, I am not saying you have this wrong but in my years of driving never heard of this occurring, you live & learn.
Not the fluid in the master cylinder, the fluid in the slave cylinder - there's a lot of heat generated when braking.
In the area I was brought up in there was a notorious hill (Sawley Brow) on the A59 between Clitheroe and Gisburn, where lorries frequently had brake failure due to the long descent. The bend at the bottom was eventually modified. A brake fluid change is listed every 2 years on my Volvo service schedule and was suggested at a non-Volvo garage when I had my front rotors and pads changed.
We used to boil the brake fluid in our Rover SD1's on a long hot run.

lol lol that's strange Bhj, I live about 2 miles from Sawley, Bawldlands!!!
Is that the same Sawley TWR, the one near Clitheroe or is yours the one between Nottingham and Derby? (You mentioned driving around Buxton earlier).
I live in the Castle, Jimmy Clitheroe town Bhj, does Henry Simpson come to mind? he used to haul out of Tarmac Bankfield Quarry.
I used to also Del to Sawley with a Comp called Duttons from Whalley many years ago Bhj.
I was brought up on West View, went to CRGS. Wife lived just outside Barrow/Whiteacre Lane, went to Ribbledale. My dad worked at Searson's (now a mosque) and Jimmy Clitheroe used to call asking for "seconds" shirts. I don't know Henry Simpson but a neighbour used to drive an 8-wheeler for Bankfield. Also remember Dutton Transport.
When they were Constructing Sawley Henry was with his 4 Wheel Tipper, for whatever reason he turned his wagon over, what did Henry do! Got out & started to grease the wagon, ( That was the way to maintain the lorrys / cars them days folks) the same person used to FREE WHEEL from Clitheroe Golf Club down to Barkers Garden Centre, the traffic behind him was laughable. the same bloke left a shovel on a site in Liverpool, when he got back to Bankfield he got a lift with another driver from Tarmac back to L/Pool to retrieve it ( That's true)
Who was that Driver?
TWR - the Bankfield driver was called Embrey, Dick I think but I might be getting mixed up with Dick Emery. (All adults were called Mister by children in those days). He lived on Victoria St, back door to us. I used to work at Barker's Nursury in the school holidays - it was sold for re-development several years ago but was still untouched when we were in Clitheroe last year.
He was known as " Gearbox Dick" he was forever Damaging G.Boxes Bhj
They have just this week developing the area, can you remember Christine Procter? She is in a bad way, I will not go further into this Bhj, it's a sad Issue the big C
